Countersink

Today while doing some woodworking I was using a countersink. My Mexican helper and I were trying to figure out using a dictionary and trans later what the Spanish equivalent of it were. We could not find anything. Anybody know the Spanish words for, countersink and countersunk?

Doing woodworking with Mexican helpers (my girlfriend/gardener/handyman) I have learned a lot of new words.

to countersink = avellanar
the tool = avellanador

Avellanar is also Hazel Wood. Hmmmmmm.

Careful.....avellanar is not Hazlewood. The tree is avellano and the nut is avellana. The wood would be madera de avellano.

I think you once mentioned that you have a hearing problem just like me.

Thanks for setting me straight on this one.

Yes, hearing bothers me a lot in watching lips to try and help figure out what people are saying. B's and V's drive me nuts in the Spanish world.

Bs and Vs bother native speakers, too. I notice that words with Bs and Vs are often misspelled by my friends when they are trying to help me in my struggles with Spanish.
