We are driving from Laredo Texas to Lake Chapala in January for the first time.
Can one turn riht on a red light in Mexico ?

My recollection from Carl Franz's book, "The Peoples' Guide to Mexico", is that this is a state law. His recommendation is not to turn right on a red light until you see other people doing it or drivers behind you start to honk.

I think it was nationalized back in the early 70's but for years you couldn't get people to make that turn without a green light. The west coast was last. At the same time it became legal to turn left from a TWO-WAY onto a ONE-WAY (yielding of course). Nobody gets that one.<p>In Mexico I just go with the flow.<p>
