Would like to legalize a van

I live in Nayarit under FM3 status. I would like to legally import my 1990 mini cargo van to Mexico, because I have not been able to buy temporary USA auto insurance, when I go to the states. It's a real problem! Is it possible? Thank you, Denny.

: I would like to legally import my 1990 mini cargo van to Mexico
If you mean you want to register your van in Mexico and have Mexican plates, the answer is NO you cannot. And anyway, that would not solve your US insurance needs. Mexican insurance is not valid in the US just as US insurance is not valid in Mexico.
I guess the real question is what prevents you from buying US insurance? That is what you need to fix.
Good luck.

I would like to have Mexican plates. A Mexican friend has auto insurance through Bancomer and he's covered in Mexico, USA, and Canada. Also temporary insurance is sold at the border, this side, for Mexican autos going to the States. I've found it impossible to get US car insurance on a temporary basis from a US company, unless I lie about an address (a friends for example).
: I guess the real question is what prevents you from buying US insurance?
