placement of subject after the verb

Hola,

I am using Warren Hardy's (San Miguel) home study course to learn Spanish while I am still NOB. In his workbook, he explains that you can put the subject after a conjugated verb or after the infinitive (or at the end of the sentence). Examples:

Necesita salir Jose ahora?

Necesita Jose salir ahora?

Which style is most common in Mexico. My English speaking brain finds it easier to use the second of the above examples, but I don't know if the first example is more commonly used.

Also, what do people think of the Warren Hardy course in general?

Muchas gracias.

Hello Jim and Linda,

You asked: >>>>Which style is most common in Mexico. - Subject before or after the verb--

Here in Zacatecas it is not a question of which style is used more often but where the empnasis is to be placed. If we wish to emphasize that we are talking about Jose instead of Juan then we usually place the subject after the verb. Nothing more simple.

Both expressions correct; both widely used.
