Driving from the SF Bay Area...

to Quintana Roo alone with 7 days to spare +/- which route will you take/avoid and why? Which entry border would you take? Just a passenger vehicle, no camper, an adult male driving, perhaps two.
Thanks

: to Quintana Roo alone with 7 days to spare +/- which route will you take/avoid and why? Which entry border would you take? Just a passenger vehicle, no camper, an adult male driving, perhaps two.
First, drive to Texas and follow the southern route to McAllen.
Cross over and take #97 south, to #101 south, then turn onto #180 south to Tampico, Poza Rica, the Costa Esmeralda (hotels).
Stay on #180 past Veracruz to Acayucan then take #186 to Villahermosa (great museum)
Follow #186 across the Yucatan to Chetumal.
That is a very ambitious drive. GOOD LUCK!
Pernel
