\High-speed Internet in Mazatlan

How easy is it to get high-speeed Intenet service in Mazatlan? Very few real estate ads for houses or condos, including some expensive ones, ever seem to mention it.

I don't want to have to go to a hotel lobby or an Internet cafe. I would like to read my e-mail while still in my bathrobe, drinking my morning coffee.

Also, since I prefer satellite TV, I would prefer an Internet system not linked to cable.

The phone company (Telmex) has a high-speed DSL service all over Mexico. You'll find some information here: http://rollybrook.com/internet.htm

Probably not advertised as a selling point, because as Rolly says... If you can get a TelMex phone line, or a MegaCable cable connection, you can almost always get broadband service. Costs about the same as in the US. $50 to $70 a month. Very few areas in Mazatlan don´t have the service.

Megacable doesn't service some areas of the city, so folks in those areas generally have satellite TV. My understanding is that Telmex's Prodigy Infinitum requires a lengthy contract, making it difficult for seasonal renters. Which area of Mazatlan do you plan to be living in?

Not always. If you purchase the modem upfront, the service can be month to month.
