Xalapa is woefully empty of places to stay with a rig and this is a lovely balneario if you are TWO people. They charge 110/person to camp and you have no services (though you could get luz if you parked close enough to the bathrooms). They have wonderful showers and clean bathrooms (they are freshly painted and cleaned daily) and amazing HOT thermal pools Right Next To the RIVER! There are treehouses galore, rope swings over the river, a huge kiddie complex, a hotel, cabanas, a CHAPEL!! and many places to eat. Honestly, you need never leave. If you're a big rig, it may be nerve-wracking to get in, but once you're in you'll want to stay. The pools are emptied every night and refilled with thermal water. The pool next to the river is constantly being filled and emptied and has a sandy bottom. The hotel is very pretty (small scale) and has an amazing rooftop. You are above all the treetops and see treetops for kilometers on end. There are hammocks strung up in the hotel area along with a cantina that seemed to be also used as a lounge area. One of the few places we've been in Mexico that is quiet. Birds, leaves from coconut trees brushing the roof, gurgling of the river; that is nighttime. Simply stunning in its simplicity. Unfortunately for us, with 4 kids, this means 660/night for our family. So we will stay two nights only and then boondock at Sam's in Xalapa.
