Tijuana Rental - Summer

I am hoping to find a two month or so rental in Tijuana, downtown, beach area, wherever within striking distance of the border for June, July. Need not be fancy. If someone has something or a lead it would be great. Or ideas about how you go about finding something like this. Am working on a book and want to be there for related reasons.

You can click here: http://www.frontera.info/ and then click on 'Clasificados'. On the new page, look for 'Bienes Raíces' and then click on 'Renta'. There are a few houses listed there for rent.

You can also click here: http://tijuana.craigslist.org/apa/.

I also found a number of listings just by searching Google for 'Tijuana house rental'.

The best way to find listings is to drive or walk around in the neighborhoods you like, looking for 'Se Renta' signs and making the phone calls. Most houses will be for rent by owner and will not be advertised in a newspaper or on line.

The paper in general is pretty hard hitting and does not gloss over the perils of living and visiting the area.
If I were you, I would take the toll road along the coast and just drive through San Antonio del Mar and other campos where you will find prominent signs marking places for rent. "Striking distance" is relative. Either you will get a Sentri (fast pass) card or you will have to cross at offpeak times to get to San Diego in less than an hour.
