Mexico airport bus station

Can't Post | Private Reply
Hello all,
I will be traveling to Mexico again this August and will fly into Mexico City. I know there is a bus station at the airport because I have traveled out of therebut for the life of me I cannot recall the name of it. There are 2 listed on the bus sites and if someone could tell me which is which I can look at schedules. I will be traveling to Xalapa so if anyone has made this trip and knows the line with the most departures or has any advice about that leg of my trip I would be most appreciative.

Actually the bus station you want is TAPO to take you on your journey. Either take the Metro from the airport or (if carrying luggage) buy a taxi ticket at the kiosk for the ride to TAPO.

There is another option you could consider. They now have a small bus station at the airport. Busses only serve 6 major destinations (Puebla, Queretero, Pachuca, Cordoba, Cuernavaca and Toluca). But you could opt to go to Puebla and change there for a bus to Xalapa. Busses (Estrella Roja) leave the airport terminal for Puebla every hour on the half hour.

Your bus from Tapo probably goes by way of Puebla (but without stopping) so you're not going out of the way. Depends on whether you'd rather take a cab to the TAPO station or bus to Puebla as your first leg. Cost is about the same for that leg (bus to Puebla cost $140 pesos).

More info here (which is great site for info on busses in general):

I have questions also. In August we will fly from MXC. At which station does the Primera Plus (Flecha Amarilla) bus from Guadalajara arrive? I think it is the north. How far from the airport is it?

One more since our plane will leave for Japan at 7:00 a.m., How about a recommendation for a nearby hotel economico?

Busses from Guadalajara go to both the west and north bus terminals in Mexico City. Most go to the north terminal. But be sure and specify/check when you purchase your tickets.

Maybe 20-25 minutes by taxi to the airport, in non-rush hour traffic.

Sorry, can't help with the economic hotel recomendation. If I had an 07:00 international flight that I didn't want to miss, I'd be staying either at the hotel inside the airport or the one across the street.

Thanks to you and to Brian also. My confusion was because I was going to Cuernavaca on that trip. The web site was great! as well. I will likely go to Cordoba and then Xalapa. I'm sure looking forward to the trip especially as we expect a hard freeze tonight, YUK!
