When crossing the border and do use credit cards only debit cards does anyone have an idea of amount of bond payed required? Thanks Margie

I believe the "cash" bond varies, depending on the value of the vehicle as determined by Hacienda. The value of the vehicle varies based on the age, type of vehicle, etc.<p>I suspect you would have to contact a Mexican embassey or consulate (or visit a Mexican border crossing if that is more convenient) to get a quote for a specific vehicle.

The bond is based on the value of your car -- and it is likely to be a LOT. Don't assume that they will not take the check card. The rule says credit card, but I and others have used a check card.
