Driving from Nogales to Tepic... any info on the tolls? I have heard approx 470 pesos from Nogales to Mazatlan...????
How is the hwy from Maz to Tepic? Bumpy I hear??
Where would be a good place to overnight on the way down?Thanks

: JuliaYou have the tolls right on. As far as a place to stay overnight it depends, of course, on how many hours you want to drive each day. There are many places to stay in any of the larger cities you pass through on your way to Tepic. If you want to drive 4 hours you can stay in Guaymas or San Carlos. Five and a half will get you to Ciudad Obregon. Another 45 minutes and you are in Navojoa. Los Mochis is about 8 hours from the border. Culiacan is 2 hours more and Mazatlan another 2 hours. If you post how which city you want to stay in perhaps the names of some hotels will come up.

When I've driven this (always with a second driver) we've done:Pre-Mexico
Day 1 Vancouver - Stockton, CA area
Day 2(Trip A) - Stockton to Blythe, CA
Day 3 (Trip A) - Blythe to Tucson, AZ
Day 2 (Trip B) - Stockton to Nogales, AZMexico
Day 1 Tucson/Nogales - Culiacan
Day 2 Culiacan - Tequila or GuadalajaraTucson to Culiacan was 04:15 to 17:00.Nogales to Culiacan was 07:00 to 19:00.I have trip logs for both of these trips (we went as far as Zihuatanejo) in Excel spreadsheet format if you are interested in seeing more details.
