I want to take an '85 Suburban to Mexico to give to my grandmother. Does anyone know how to do this legally? Thanks

When my husband took a pick-up for his father, we just went with a regular paper that you get at the border. Then, when we were down there, my father-in-law went to an office of la union de campesinos (CNC) office in Morelia and registered it. It took quite a while until it was completely done. My husband told me that now, if the person is Mexican that is taking the automobile down, you can register it at the border and get a permit to leave it there. But then you would have to change it into your grandfaher's name. <p>I suggest you get the regular paper at the border and then check the Union de Campesinos and ask for information there.
