As a proud "abuelito"(grandfather) of two beautiful grandchildren(3 and 2 years old), I am once again enjoying the wonderful children's songs written by Francisco Gabilondo Soler "El Cri Cri" who was from Orizaba, Veracruz.
Take a look at this charming page... http://www.cri-cri.net/index2.html
I am looking forward to hearing your coments.
¡Hasta pronto, amigos costeños!

Cri Cri is also a permanent presence in our home (we have a 2 year old) and we love him! I think he's from Orizaba originally... or Cordoba, I'm not sure.

Veracruzan musicians are the best!

Roy,

Maybe you can put me straight on this one.. A Mexican friend told me a few months ago that there was a movie made based on the life of Francisco Gabilondo Soler made in the 1980s or 90s. Have you heard of this?

Please let me check with my "costilla" when she gets back from Mexico City tomorrow. However I think there definitely was a movie in which he participated. Let's keep researching on the web!

Did anyone think to check the Internet Movie database?

There's a whole heap of credits for Cri-Cri but under the name of 'Gabilondo Soler'

My baby daughter is being introduced by her Mom and Abuela to Cri-Cri and 'Los Cochinitos Dormilones' - Dad is learning the words to 'Negrito Bailarin' to amuse her.

The movie that I was referring to was a biopic about the life of Francisco Gabilondo Soler. Ringing any bells?
