Calculating # of days off per year for household employees

 Private Reply

Hola, I’m confused re the formula one uses to come up with # of days off each year I am responsible for paying my empleada. I am pretty sure it’s 14 daysbut just WHAT constitutes a “day”? For example: she works one “day”(5hrs) a week at $400 pesos. If that “day” is considered a DAY then I would owe her $400 x 14 =$5600 pesos! I am fair in regards to paying employees, but that seems VERY HIGH. Is their a formula? E.G. take the 400 and divide by 7 to get a daily rate for a week? If I do that, rounding off, a “day” comes out to about $60 pesos. $60 x 14 = $840. Would really appreciate some help on this. I want to do the right thing(and then some...)! Muchisimas gracias, YoDave
