TIP Deposit Refund

| Private Reply
14 days ago we took our Texas plated vehicle to Laredo to sell. We canceled our TIP at the Nuevo Laredo Banjercito kiosk and received the very important receipt. We have not yet received our deposit refund (to the credit card we used to purchase it).

Has anyone had a recent experience as to getting their deposit back? if so, how long did it take? If we don't see the refund in the near future, what would be the way (if any) to present our receipt and secure a refund?

BTW....before we made the trip North, I got extremely valuable advise from Rick & Playaboy on exiting and returning back into Mexico. Thanks amigos for your help!

I returned through Corboca,Sonora a month ago, the young lady checked the VIN on my windshield, took a picture of the VIN on the door, removed the hologram from the windshield and handed me a receipt and said the credit would be in my CC Account in 3 business days and it was...I have done it 10 times and never had a problem or delay of the refund.
As long as you have the receipt you should be able to contact Banerjcito and show you are still waiting for your refund, suerte

How long was the car in Mexico? Did you get a 180 day FMM tourist card or a 30 day "canje" FMM card when entering Mexico to process a 6 month preapproved Residente Temporal visa in your passport at a Mexican Consulate? Are you a Residente Temporal now or a Residente Permanente? These different situations determine if your deposit might have been forfeited depending on if you notified SAT within 15 days of your new immigration status when becoming a Residente Temporal. If you became a Residente Permanente you had 30 days from entering Mexico to turn in the TIP at the border before the deposit is forfeited.

Chances are if you haven't received it now, you can kiss it goodbye. Even if you did everything correctly with notifications, it will take a lot of effort to get the $200 back

Although I doubt that this is the case here with Jeffie, IF the credit card one used going in is no longer valid for any reason, the credit back to it cannot take place.

I've done this dance probably 10 times in the last 2-3 years and my deposit has always been credited back within 3-4 business days... sometimes in just one day!

Hang tight Jeffie.

Hey Playaboy:
No, not yet. Everything was prepared by Spencer with our RT paperwork so all was in order. Spencer is working on why we didn't receive our refund and I hope to have a final answer next week. Things can fall thru the cracks, even if you follow the rules......such is life.
