Need recommendations for Dental Implant Specialist

Hi,

I need a recommendations for Dental Implant Specialist. Ideally in Ensenada or Mazatlan, but a better specialist trumps a better location. Prefer someone you or somebody you know had personal experience with.

You mean that information wasn't bestowed on you at the same time you were "knighted with your name? :-)

No. God was multi tasking that day and omitted to do several things he should have. And this was one of them.

I know one good specialist in Tijuana, that's two hours drive north of Ensenada, Dr. Ricardo Alvarez-Carrera:

Hi did four of my molar implants back in 2004, no complaints until today. However, I know he has raised his prices quite a lot. He used to charge me $100 for complete periodical cleaning of the implants (included removing of the cup/crown), then the price went up to $200, it might be even more now.
Make sure you really need the implants. The procedure involves quite a lot of trauma, and you will have to take strong antibiotics which will mess up your gut microbes. And there is always a risk that the implant will get infected and rejected. Also, the implanted titanium screw causes gradual loss of bone over time. So think twice before you do it. Good luck!

Thanks Viktoremski for the information. I decided not to do implants any time soon, and wait until current research on whole tooth replacement using dental stem cells reaches a stage where they look for volunteers to participate in trials. Using temporary teeth in the mean time. My dentist told me the temps will last a year.

"whole tooth replacement using dental stem cells" - wow, that definitely sounds interesting, although I'm not sure if it will happen during our lifetime... saludos!
