Don‘t be surprised if it is treated as any other dog......no special privileges. I don‘t recall seeing a service dog in Mexico in my 13+ years there; never on an airplane either. Buses and colectivos will not permit dogs, and you would have to ask an individual taxi driver, etc.
In Mexico, it is best to use your own car if you wish to travel with a pet, as it is not common practice. Some no-tell motels will be your only options, with a small number of other motels allowing pets. Hotels generally do not allow them, and it is against the law to take a pet into a restaurant, etc.
