It all depends on your legal residency. Mexican residents can drive their Mexican cars for up to a year in the USA

You are a tourist in Mexico. I am sure you can buy a car but can you register a Mexican titled car as a tourist in SMA?

USA residents need to drive USA registered cars in the USA. Vehicle registration laws are State laws. Check the State where you legally reside motor vehicle dept's regulations for the exact law.

Importing a car into Mexico is not hard to do, at the BORDER, if you meet the requirements. The broker does everything for you.

Sitting at home in your car, paying money upfront to a facilitator to magically produce legal import paperwork and/or registration, has proven to be one of the biggest fraud schemes perpetuated against expats the last 4 years (as your waiting friends continue to wait, wait, wait) .
