 In addition to Careyeroslib's good advice,
Call their bluff, raise as needed, be ready to calmly and confidently re-raise:

“Dame mi multa, por favor.“ **

Take their picture.

"Me gustaria hablar con tu jefe, por favor."
"I want to talk with your Captain/manager, please."

Then, if needed, the Third Raise:
"Por favor, lleveme a la estación de Policia."
"Please take me to the station."

These approaches have worked for us for 26 years of stress-free traffic stops and retens.

**If you demand that the officer to give you a "boleto", it shows them that you really don't quite know how things work, (by using the wrong word in the wrong way). Instead, show some polish and confidence, and things go much more smoothly.
