This is an update to the previous post. As of July 30, 2011, a durable power of attorney exists in Jalisco, along with some limited health care directives for curative care, not palliative care as provided in the federal legislation. The durable power of attorney and limited health care directives pertain specifically to the 'guardianship' process.
For some information on the new legislation, go to the website www.lifeplanninginjalisco.wordpress.com
