Hi all,

Just thought many of you would like to know, this was posted today by Ron Hoff AKA Bajagringo on Baja Nomads.

By Ron Hoff (today):

"While I have still to read through many pages of this thread I continue to be overwhelmed at the outpouring of support, from the Nomad community and beyond.

Responding to "unusual" inactivity at a neighbors (unarmed and without dogs) last Saturday I was "greeted" by three subjects, two of which were known to me. After an "escalating" exchange I was stabbed, beaten and left for dead.

What my wife did following was no less heroic, coming to the aid of her husband and following victim to the same, senseless violence.

Neighbors and friends responding, picking up my bloody, lifeless body and taking into their care Cristina. While they transported us to emergency care they assisted police in hunting down the perpetrators.

The care given us over the following days was no less spectacular and by Wednesday I had awoken from a coma. Surgery was performed Thursday to wire my jaw shut. Their attention for my care shifted from my primary wounds to my blood pressure. ( yeah, I know)

Cristina continued to improve in the care of family and outcare and today we both stand "freed" from a week of hell.

Many thanks go out to Sirena, Fernando, Gene, Reyes, Chava, family / friends, doctors / nurses and countless Nomads who have followed and contributed to our ordeal. A very special thanks goes out to Discover Baja Travel Club.

For now we would ask that you respect our need for healing / recovery in the coming days. "

Best of luck to you Ron and your Cristina and God Speed. I am sure this sentiment and well wishes come from your many friends on the mainland and many friends at MexConnect. You both are in our thoughts and prayers. Heal well.
