Given the number of weapons that the United States, Mexico's southern neighbors and Asia have furnished to various criminal groups in Mexico, it is amazing that more of these weapons have not found their way into the hands of Mexico's youth. Simply take a look at how fascinated the youth of the US have become with carrying weapons around for the "macho" factor. Granted possessing a grenade as opposed to having a pistol in ones waistband or pocket has more serious consequences to more people but the fascination remains the same.
The US Consulate's warning can be viewed as no more than "spin" in an attempt to control the fallout! Regards, Neil Albuquerque, NM
