All the comments here just shows how different we expats are--I think both VIPS and Sanborns are ALL horrible. I have eaten at both all over Mexico--always only when desperate. Sanborns has the least Mexican of Mexican food I have ever had in Mexico and probably consistently the worst service (I always end up writing a complain in the comment book--which relly upsets the host/hostess--although nothing ever comes of it). VIPS food is 90% micro-waved (according to a friend who worked at one). I now only go to these restaurants for breakfast and only when traveling. To each his/her own!!
