Need hotel or B&Brecommendationca SMA

Hi Everyone~ I will be arriving in SMA in January to begin my "short List" tour of possible retirement locations in Mexico that I am considering. Does anyone know of a good cheap to mid range hotel or B&B that is fairly central...relatively quiet, safe, clean, comfortable?
I have my new lonely planet guide but would love to get some leads, advice and reviews from the forum. THANKS!
