Dan Ellsworth
Dan is a citizen of both the U.S. and Mexico. He spent much of his life in Alaska where he was a pilot, competitive skier, runner, and orienteer. He now mostly lives in Oaxaca on his self-sustaining organic ranch, where his varied pursuits include taking pictures, installing solar systems, translating, and writing software. He travels frequently to Comitán, Chiapas, the home of his wife María, a doctor (director of Epidemiology for the Secretary of Health) and writer. There he is a rebuilding a 120-year-old house.
Dan and Maria's children are all grown.
