Gracias Y Adios
Dear Readers,
When "Tales From the Maracuyá" first appeared as a Mexico Connect column in July 2003, I hoped to chronicle an extraordinary year in Mexico with an extraordinary friend. My memories of that year lead me down paths that were richer and more evocative than I expected them to be.
As the work evolved, I realized that I had a book project in the making, and since I can't shop previously published work to agents, I've made the decision to stop at "The Foreigner's Tale", published in the November 2003 issue.
Many thanks to Mexico Connect Publisher David McLaughlin for opening a column place for the "Tales" to be born and to the readers who gave me such wonderful feedback. A special "Gracias" goes to Isabel Fuente for sharing her family with me.
And yes, I will be contributing occasional articles . . .
