Mexican Beisbol links
Baseball is one of Mexico's best entertainment values. Palcos or box seats run around 80 pesos at the Foro Sol, and general admission access to the bleachers costs about 20 pesos. Last May, Mexico City's rival baseball teams, the Tigres Capitalinos and Diablos Rojos, moved from Parque Seguridad Social to the new Foro Sol in Ciudad Deportiva. What the new stadium lacks in history, it makes up for in style: paginas.sportsya.com/tigrescapitalinos/Equipo/Estadio/. The regular season runs from April to August, and as the summer heats up, you can find Mexican baseball statistics, standings, results, photos, maps, and news on the Web.

The official URL of the page is www.lmb.com.mx/ but it quickly detours to the Sports Ya! mega-website, a Spanglish-titled portal that covers sports throughout Latin America.
The website design does have its pluses - results ( resultados) are posted quickly and the site offers information about each of Mexico's 16 teams, including individual team emails. The bad news: No one responds to emails sent to these addresses. If you're sending a question or a compliment, don't expect feedback. For those who need a quick baseball fix, check out the somewhat hidden pages that are not linked from the official LMB page: Standings ( mexico2.sportsya.com/beisbol/lmb/index.php3?page=standings) and Results ( mexico2.sportsya.com/beisbol/lmb/).

This model website boasts all the information fans and potential spectators need. The latest scores roll across the top of the page and there's abundant information about the team's playing schedule, history, and even a section dedicated to the team's mascot "Chacho," a Hobbes-like tiger who motivates fans and rivals alike. Sometimes he'll remove his tiger head only to unveil a Carlos Salinas mask underneath. Chacho has been called Mexico's best mascot and indeed he's the consummate performer, sometimes outshining his team. Catch the Chacho frenzy online ( paginas.sportsya.com/tigrescapitalinos/Chacho).

The "Red Devils" are Mexico City's oldest team and Mexico's 1999 league champion. They also have the best record this year. However, their site can only be viewed using the Shockwave application, making it inaccessible to surfers with older platforms and software. What a shame that not everyone can enjoy this site considering the team's on-field prowess.
