Where can I get a list of RV parks in Mexico? I will leave Texas soon for Saltillo. Later, further south, not interested in coastal, primarily mountains.

New book out - Traveler's Guide to Camping In Mexico. Three hundred some odd parks listed. Written by Mike and Terri Church. Rolling Homes Press. The book has map sketches!

Be cautious. Unless Mike and Terry have published a new edition all the information is more than 3 years old. In Mexico things can change very quickly. That great sounding park they recommended may now be a parking lot or just abandoned. This book is, however, the best camping guide for Mexico.

The Church's have indeed kept up with the Garcia's-----

We are driving down to the mainland (November thru to March) and want to leave our RV there and fly back home to Canada, so the next year we don't have to drive back down. I am concerned about the temporary vehicle permit, etc. Is storing it down there possible?

Posted by john laguna on Junio 26, 2000

Yes, there are car storage yards, you'll have to ask around. I stored my car for a few weeks in one, the owners lived on site. Ask someone reputable.

Consider getting, as well as renewing annually, an FM-3, which would obviate the problems of the 180-day motor vehicle permit.

Very possibly the only way that you can accomplish such a feat is with a travel trailer and the 20-year permit. This does not address the issue of what to do with the motor vehicle, however.

David do you know how much a travel trailer permit costs? Is it based on the length or age of the trailer?

Posted by Marvin Kemel on Junio 27, 2000

The 20 yr. permit is FREE. BUT can only be used for a non-motorized vehicle. i.e., travel trailer o.k., motorhome n.a.

We (2 adults/1 small dog) would like to travel to Yucatan in the fall in an rv. We have about 6 months to spend. Any advice or suggestions?
