Alfredo Castañeda (b. 1938)
Castañeda is renowned for his "inspirationalist" allegories that feature his own bearded "alter ego". He renders his images with "Old Master" pictorial quality. An optimistic spirituality radiates from his works through such ploys as nostalgia for times past, and viewer-friendly symbolism.
