    Located in a residential area 15 minutes from town, this is a sprawling, deluxe hotel with a country club atmosphere. Green manicured lawns surround 5 pools, putting greens, and large shade trees. Facilities include tennis, children's playground, gourmet Mexican/ international restaurant, coffee shop, lobby bar and bar-creperie. There are 202 spacious rooms located in widely scattered two-story 1960's looking buildings. Fully-updated rooms have mini-bars, cable TV, wood furniture, tile or marble combination baths, and carpeting. All rooms look onto manicured gardens and have patios or balconies. This was the first Camino Real property, and has weathered the years quite well.

  • Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza

    Across from Plaza del Sol shopping center, this old favorite and extremely well kept property features ample use of marble, arches and porticos in the newly refurbished public areas. 300 large rooms have coordinated decor with light wood fumiture, carpeting, combination baths, TV's with videos, mini-bar. Well tended grounds surround rooms. Lovely pool backed by colonial arches and shade trees. Roof top gourmet restaurant, coffee shop, 3 bars, disco, tennis courts, health club, playground, convention facilities.

  • Quinta Real

    One of Mexico's most lovely modern colonial-style properties, the Quinta Real is a quiet urban oasis of green lawns, fountains, and flowering courtyards.     Across from the Minerva Fountain, this very popular 25-story luxury hotel is the tallest hotel in Guadalajara.   • Frances

    Built in 1610 (yes, 1610!) this historic hotel was designated a national monument following its renovation in 1981. Benito Juárez (one of Mexico most loved presidents) stayed here. Right off Guadalajara's main plaza, this 3-story structure is entered through an atrium lobby with skylight and marble fountain at its center. Frosted glass, period paintings, and bird cage elevator lend to the charm. Tne hotel's 60 rooms come in various shapes and sizes and offer tile or carpeting, king or double beds, and fans (no airconditioning). The Rose Cafe offers informal dining. Piano music in lobby bar and live music y dancing in Maxims.
